This place had a nice menu with a good choice for lunch. Food arrived fairly promptly, despite the fact it was pretty busy. It was tasty and a good sized portion.

Also the place reeks of history - there are detailed signs on the walls outside delineating some of it.

Food very nice and reasonably priced. Very attentive waiting staff and a very dog friendly pub.

We sat outside overlooking the river which was lovely.

It is also on the Cask Marque Ale Trail and this should automatically presume superb libation - well it probably would, if they drew off enough beer that has lain overnight the pipes from the cellar. It's not a good idea to get there bang on opening time.

Really great place to eat. Depending on whether you want an intimate meal near the fire, or a restaurant experience, this gastro pub caters for all events. The food is delicious. I really recommend a visit

Nags Head also features quite frequently in The Good Beer Guide, so clearly they are doing something right. But there has been more than one comment about staff attitude – I noticed myself a distinct coolness from a bar staff member. Perhaps like the beer, she had lain overnight too long.

Without doubt this establishment can claim the bragging rights for location. Even in the rain there is an interesting and absorbing view to be had from the windows. Set on an island with an ancient bridge, the views from almost every direction are lovely.

Visited here on a trip to Oxford and wanted a quick pub lunch.
